About Me.
The Art Student
Howdy, I'm Ashton Slattery, a digital arts student form California. Art has always been a major part of my life. As both a child and now young adult I am inspired by art and driven to create by that same inspiration. Have grown fond of geometric styles of art such as that of Justin Maller and Adem Aras. I also have a great amount of respect for artist such as Coran Kizer and Ching Yeh and their style of character design. I could list countless artist that I look up too, but the gist of things is that I draw inspiration from many places. Thanks to my friends and family I have stayed adamant about creating and I have little intention of stopping. If I am to be honest I do not see my art as something which will carry me forward in life, but I do hope to continue on with it as a hobby. My hope is too someday become a good enough artist that my art starts to become recognizable.
Outside of the Art
While art and creation is a major part of my life I do have other interests. Lacrosse has become a major part of my life since I started playing in 8th grade. I started the sport knowing nothing, but picked up how it works fast and today I'm now a captain and somewhat reputable attack man. Outside of lacrosse I am largely a homebody and tend to stay cooped up indoors watching movies and playing games, but I do have my adventures. One of my best reasons to go out is to either ride motorcycles or take photos, usually both. I took up motocross around freshman year and now ride with my father who was an avid rider up until around my birth. As for photography I was introduced to it by mt grandmother and now take a camera with me whenever I go on trips or hikes. Photography and motocross have given me the ability to capture some fairly cool adventures and they are hobbies I am incredible happy to have taken up.
